Let’s Start A Conversation!

“Parent shaming” usually occurs on social media where it is easier to criticize someone, behind the protective barrier of a computer or phone screen, than it is do in person. But it hurts no less.

There is an old African proverb that “it takes a village to raise a child.” But at Neighbourhood, we are aiming to raise up entire families and that is the common good.

Are you feeling alone as a parent? Are you feeling unsupported and criticized? Let’s start a conversation here at Neighbourhood about how we can raise each other up, as part of the common good. Parents, spend this month sharing with each other what you think other parents do well. Be kind to yourself. Remember that you are not alone. We are here as well, travelling this journey together.

In a world where we can sometimes feel surrounded by negativity, take some time to focus on what the world has given you to succeed. Try this either individually or as a family.
