Families Growing Together: Practice and Important Life Skills

by Margaret Evans, Director of Lifespan Learning

Practice makes perfect, or so they say. But what happens if you practice the same thing every day and you don’t get any better? I am sure there are parents who feel as though their daily routines are a grind and nothing seems to be improving. It is easy to see the progress in hindsight but to remind ourselves to stay the course is important.

Sometimes, changing the pace and experience is a helpful tool to both practice important life skills and give the mind and family heartbeat a break from the usual.

On Sunday May 21st, join the children and youth on a clean-up expedition to the lakeshore boulevard downtown. We will be joining Beach United on this journey and all are welcome. We will transport ourselves there by bike and practice caring for the environment together.

I look forward to seeing you all there!
