1) Each day practice breathing consciously. For five minutes allow yourself to become aware of your inward breath and your outward breath. (It’s harder than you think). Five minutes is about 250 breaths. Try it in groups of ten breaths in and out. If you lose count, begin again, this time for four minutes. Have fun with the practice, as you notice how easy it is to space out. Laugh at yourself when you lose count at three. Within five days the quality of your attention will begin to change. It is an easy and deep learning.
2) There are times in our lives when we need to hear our innermost thoughts. Some call it our soul. Often we have forgotten how to do this and we must learn again. For five minutes, sit and do nothing. Nothing at all. See what happens.
